Stage 1 - 1 year after sinking - spars and rigging floated off, general weakening of structure and light sediment deposits

Stage 2 - 1 to 10 years. Upper deck collapses - marine borer activity. Sediment build up in spaces diagram2.jpg (8851 bytes)
Stage 3 - 10 to 50 years. Collapse of structural timbers. Seabed buildup around hull and heavy objects drop to lower areas of hull.

Stage 3 - 50 to 80 years. Stabilisation of Wreck. Spaces filled with sediment that stops marine borer activity. Organic material insulated from oxygen.

An impression of the wreck today .. as it is embedded. 
There is still a lot to be discovered as to what hull structure remains.
