Stage
1 - 1 year after sinking - spars and rigging floated off, general
weakening of structure
and light sediment deposits

Stage 2 - 1 to 10 years. Upper deck collapses - marine borer activity. Sediment
build up in spaces |

Stage 3 - 10 to 50 years.
Collapse of structural timbers. Seabed buildup around hull and heavy objects drop to lower
areas of hull.

Stage 3 - 50
to 80 years. Stabilisation of Wreck. Spaces filled with sediment that stops marine borer
activity. Organic material insulated from oxygen.

embedded.
There is still a lot to be discovered as to what hull structure remains. |
